The cost of design
Before we begin, know that every client receives a complementary consultation. Let's talk and decide how to make your vision a reality. Even if you decide to work with another designer you will not be charged for our meeting.
Basic Starter - $250 (hosting and support not included - see below)

The cost of having a website
There are various components to having a website: hosting, domain name, maintenance/support, and design. Each of these is an expense. Let me explain to calm your fears.
Hosting: this cost, currently between $4 and $7 a month, is for renting space to house your site. It's not just that you are renting space on the nebulous intity we call and internet, you are renting space on a server that is maintained. Like having all the utilities and maintenance included in your rent. We can work together to find a hosting company that will meet the needs of your site. This is an annual reoccurring cost for as many years as you want to keep your site.

Domain Name: what’s in a name? Your domain name is your web address like www.designempowered.com and yes you do have to pay for it. The cost is around $10/year. Some hosting companies have deals which give you a free domain name for life. If you decide to go with a hosting company that does not have this deal, your domain name registration will be a reoccurring cost.
Maintenance and Support: Once your site is built you should know it will need to be maintained. With my system these are only structural changes (menu options, logo changes, new page additions, and general site growth) you update your own content. With many web designers the site is built for them to edit everything or for you to edit with specialized web design software (around $300). There are even some web designers that refuse to design a site that will be maintained by the client.
My support is straight forward. Support charges are based on the minutes I work for you. If I work 25 minutes, you are charged for 25 minutes. There are no 30 minute or hour minimum charges. Support entails changes to functionalities. Let’s say I build a user login system for you. If something was to happen and there was a glitch it would be considered support. Functionality components added to your site are considered design.
